Don't Stand Up!
Presented by Amy Losi
There are three days left until opening night and an amateur theatre group is presenting the premier of a new play live over Zoom. Nothing is going according to plan and the volatile director has his hands full with his crazy cast. They are all performing over Zoom for the first time and there are many challenges. The ensemble includes an actress who can’t remember her lines so she uses an earpiece with disastrous results, an aging diva who over acts and has trouble sticking to the script even though she’s also the playwright, a mature actress who is easily confused, a mature actor who keeps falling asleep, a young actor who thinks he is the one true professional until it all starts to fall apart, and an actress who loses her Internet during the live show. Running the production is a dynamic stage manager who has to hold it all together when he isn’t dancing to Tik Tok in his boxers, and a sarcastic director with a short fuse and a tall drinking problem. This fast-paced comedy reveals some of the challenges of amateur theatre and trying to adapt to a new play form.

Empty Windows
Presented by Rosenstein Brothers Films (Andrew Rosenstein and Joseph Rosenstein)
A little boy with schizophrenia, miraculously survives a murder-suicide attempt at the hands of his mother. Years later, he is still haunted by the past and stops taking medication to confront his demons. The film explores the truth about mortality and blurs the line between evil and mental illness. It questions our perception of reality and how we are incapable of fully understanding someone else's.

Fast Draw Fun
Created by Bill Dougal

An entertaining big easel cartooning show. You’ll be surprised to see how Bill turns one thing into another. For instance, a bowling pin is drawn, flipped and adapted to look like a lady with a braid. Some will want to learn how drawings are constructed by altering and combining shapes, and create their own toons. But most will just get a kick out of seeing the drawings quickly appear. Humor, song and graphics give variety to the vid.

Partial Perspectives
Presented by MB Dance Theatre
When only a part of the whole can be seen at any given time, this is the intent of the site-specific dance performance entitled Partial Perspectives. During the dance piece the viewpoints are directed to both reveal and disguise parts of the dance and the dancers. The audience is left with their imagination as to what might be going on outside of view. The piece touches on the concept in human behavior that no matter how much you think you are seeing something; you are actually not capturing the entire story. Performed by Megan Boyd and Luka Kito, this duet demonstrates synchronized movement that may our may not be deliberate given the fact the performers are divided and cannot see one another. And even when they are able to connect, the audience becomes aware of areas of the performance space that are vacant, imbalanced, and no longer viewable. Overall Partial Perspectives plays with a lack of wholeness to create a new kind of performance experience.

im ur hamlet
Presented by Sour Grapes Productions

What happens when a bunch of actors get together on Zoom to try to put on a production of Hamlet? Can Shakespeare even be DONE on a lag? And how about the large personalities involved - it's very hard to grab attention from someone else when you're not even in the same room as everyone. It’s not going to go well and we all know it.
im ur hamlet. was specifically written for and filmed on Zoom. In it's premiere run, it was called "one of the best uses of Zoom to create a viable piece of new theater," by Hi! Drama, plus Thinking Theater NYC called it "a funny, fast-moving script," Go See a Show Podcast said "I don't do Zoom theater, but I was VERY pleasantly surprised watching im ur hamlet," AND it even landed on Time Out NY's list of best live theater to watch.

The show is sung by an unnamed character who watches as his life partner is diagnosed with, and eventually dies from, HIV/AIDS. The Great Wildcat Jackson
Presented by Wildcat Jackson
Wildcat Jackson is the self proclaimed Monarch of the West. With his silly yet edgy brand of comedy magic, he entertains as an old west showman in a modern world. This bargain basement Buffalo Bill Cody works a crowd with his larger than life charisma and offbeat carnival style show.

Solo
Presented by Ava R. Molnar
SOLO is a new style of guided performance video that puts the audience in the role of the performer. Step into the story and go through your day as a performer rehearsing a new solo show. When your eccentric director and overly metaphorical playwright start to squabble more than usual, it seems like the show might not go on. Can you bring peace to the production? And if you can, will you want to? Just like a workout video, SOLO isn’t really effective if you just sit on the couch and watch quietly. All it takes is some common household objects for props, some space, and time to turn you into the star of the story.

POTBELLY

Presented by The Potbelly Crew

Potbelly is a resourceful chef who wants nothing more than to be his own boss. Talented though he is, he bounces from food trucks to catering gigs to fancy restaurants, honing his craft and driving his bosses crazy. He is on a mission to civilize the world, as he rants about food trends, parking tickets, and anything else that threatens to disrupt the peaceful routine of his community. His passion is sometimes unduly formidable and he often bites off more than he bargains for - which is fine, as long as it tastes good. If Potbelly could swallow some pride with every meal, he might be successful in his ventures. Salty he may be, but his food is always perfectly seasoned, and every episode he leaves us with a recipe. (rated PG.)

A Night With The Dead

Presented by Something From Abroad

A Night with the Dead is a story about the origins of the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos and how one girl's drive can change the course of an afterlife. It’s entirely in English with Mexican folk songs (in Spanish) and dances inspired in the Mexican traditional folklore.

A Night with the Dead is a fantasy-comedy new play that follows Catrina, a Mexican girl who, in the aftermath of her grandmother’s death, will go on a journey to question tradition and discover what happens after we die.

Catrina believes that her grandmother, Elsa would not want her death to be mourned. However, in this world celebrating in any way during the mourning period is considered untraditional and disrespectful. Her Mom and her friend Peter tell her she should not talk about death or invoke the spirit of death. In her search to discover what happened to Elsa, Catrina enters the Land of the Dead by trusting the spirit, Thanatos. She encounters La Santa Muerte in a way that no living person has ever encountered him before. They share a love for ancient Aztec poetry, but they have different opinions about how the dead should spend eternity.
